Can anyone freshen up the stale MESA gouges?
I have an interview with Mesa in a couple days and was hoping that someone could freshen up the interview information.
I have already gone through most of the ATP, but some areas to focus on would be nice. Also, anyone know what plates they are using for briefings? |
Warning! The following posts will not be good. They will bash Mesa and you for considering employment with Mesa.
Good luck. |

lol the roasting awaits.
|
Flame away
|
If you can fog a mirror, they will hire you.
|
The best advice you could get would be to skip the interview.
|
Please don't interview at Mesa, nothing good will come of it for ANYONE in this industry or yourself (especially yourself)
|
If You are going there to become part of the 121 community, you will meet some friendly pilots.
If you were in a concentration camp you would also meet some friendly pilots. Mesa is a concentration camp. You will leave there grateful that you are no longer there, with one added memory, that being of what management can do to you, and what you, in turn, must do in order to survive!! STAY AWAY |
Ha! Muushin very funny. I should have prefaced this with I am going there to get interview experience as I am yet to have one. I have an interview with a 135 company that will hopefully be my bread and butter. If any one has anything to offer, please do, if you dare. If not, let the bashing continue.

I'm sure it has changed since, and would not recommend coming to work here now. If no one is going to contribute, don't let the bashing continue. There are at least 10-15 Mesa threads with plenty of that. Mods: do we need one more stage for Muushin, N2 and eaglefly to have a 3 way? |
The old adage of going to Mesa for interview "experience" doesn't work anymore...The interview consists of nothing but a pulse check and a rectal exam (just to be sure it hasnt been ripped wide open before)
|
That seems like a reasonable defense, Cirrusdriver. I've not interviewed at Mesa, don't intend to, but I'm not gonna bash you for going after the experience - and especially since you're going for that, get a good night's rest, be yourself, and enjoy the whole mess as best one can :-)
Then come back and freshen the gouges! |

Praise the Lord that you have something on the table other than mesa, and hunker down, and build some time. Be grateful and a team player, and in time this fiasco with the furloughs and lay offs will be a thing of the past. Now this is important. People bad mouth mesa for a reason, I surely did not single them out for a whimsicality. Trust your own judgement. if ever you have a choice, chose other than mesa |
If you're going for experience, go and experience it. Why bother preparing?
Get a good view, and take what you can from it for yourself. If you've spent more than 30 seconds on this website before, you should know that posting anything like this is a stupid idea. You will get VERY little useful information. |
"Mods: do we need one more stage for Muushin, N2 and eaglefly to have a 3 way?"
As always, if one feels a post violates TOS, one can report the post and make their case. The ignore feature can sometimes be useful, as well. |

Here is a video of people that have interviewed at Mesa previously, might help you out...
Mesa Interview |
With the current state of Mesa.....I guess I didn't realize they were still interviewing and hiring? Anyone considering going to Mesa to get some 121 time and move on should have already figured out these days are long gone (for now) since almost everyone has halted hiring and canceling newhire classes right and left. Plan on spending a good amount of time there before moving on. This is not a good time to be sitting on the bottom of the seniority list anywhere. Good luck!

helpful advice.
CD I have no dog in this hunt but if you need to build time and other options are closed then I would say go for it and use it to your advantage ,some in here will disagree but then again they are working and getting a check every week , so do what you have to do for now and then consider other possibilities later , one has to get ones foot in the door somewhere and maybe some of these guys can help you get work where they are at:) dont hear much in here about Comair so maybe you can check with them and then make a decision .
Good luck on whatever path you choose. |

Gouge for interview.....a pulse!! I use to interview there one question we always asked was explain what a published VDP on an approach plate meant. I was very surprised how many didn't know. But to be honset with you if you were likable and seemed eager we always gave the thumbs up......now some more gouge..... if you can get on at any other regional do it!!
