military reserve age requirement
Does anyone know what the age cut-off for ANG is? I am flying at a regional now but want to also fly military for some additional income.

It used to be that you had to be no older than 26 1/2 when you entered pilot training, but you could get a waiver if you were close. It's been quite a few years since I was in though, so things may have changed.

In recent years the age cutoff was 28, but this has been relaxed to early thirties due to pilot shortage I believe...but it may not stay that high for long. The Navy/USMC might still be 28.
If you can do it, do it, it will advance your civilian career a lot faster than sitting around waiting to upgrade or build PIC time at a regional. |
You must start UPT before your 30th birthday. If you are doing it for the money, it's definitely for the wrong reasons. I enjoy guard flying(most days) but if I was in it for the money, I would not be happy overall.

Not doing it just for the money. I guess at 34 I'm too old anyway.

34 is also waiverable in the Army. Of course it would be RW, but something to think about.

If you're already flying professionally, you might be able to get a waiver for the Guard also. But don't waste any time.

I'm not sure what RW is

Rotoray Wing = Helos
This would be a lot of fun and while the flight time would not directly count for many major airlines, the military background is always a huge plus. |
