Mucho grassy-ass on the suggestions!!! I'm sorry if I hijacked this thread, but JetJock's posts sparked the interest in what I was already contemplating.
I think XJT will eventually turn itself around, going to take some time and reorganization and lots of hard work......and then JetJock will be having a "ha ha told you so" party some time down the road. Goodluck, Man....hoping it pays off for you. |

Anyhow, thanks......what about an online trader? I've heard bits and pieces from friends/family members, but don't quite know the best one for my particular needs/usages/investing. Any suggestions? As a beginner investor, I'd like some info. Got any sites to get that? Or have an online trader you find pleasing?? |
Buying ExpressJet right now has more characteristics of a gamble than an investment.
They will be loosing significant sources of cash as the branded goes offline. As mentioned earlier, they will at the same time experience large cash outlays. It only takes a single default to cause a BK filing. I haven't seen their 2Q financial yet.... so maybe I'm way off base here. |

it was operating at a loss |

No, I had these exact intentions in mind when I started this thread. I wanted good communication between investors & potential investors, on tips and ideas, in hopes of gaining a little more info or insight so that we aren't completely blindly investing.

JetJock, Just keep in mind that most companies, airlines included, usually re-issue stock if many issues at the current time are found "unacceptable". This renders previous issued stocks void. If my memory serves correct, United did this about 5 years ago or so. Good luck! |

right on. i was just talking as an investor before. IF they get the pay cuts. I would rather be on the street then make this profession that much more of a joke.
It is unfortunate that the BOARD signed a deal with CAL that literally is a going to make us lose money, but it is what it is and the company needs a way to reduce costs. If the pilot group wants the company to look elsewhere I am 100% behind them, and will stand behind them, just want to warn everyone that Bankruptcy will cost us a lot more then 5% our pay. If the group decides to give up anything, any money that is made will come back to the Pilots, I can guarantee you that |

Haven't I heard this line from every airline CEO over the years ? Never seems to quite work out... for the worker bees. |
