I have a jet class date. But it's an upgrade class. I re-read it and it did sound like a new hire question. Sorry. But if I was coming here new and had a choice of now on the dash or later on the jet. Take the seniority numbers now. With American retirements at full bore soon, one class at AA could be a hundred numbers of mainline seniority

I suspect the dashes won't go away as soon as stated. Why would we park them after spending $$$ on air conditioning adapters for the summer. And also we aren't a 1-1 replacement for routes with the jet. Jet routes are newish and some replacement. I think the dash may have some life left in it yet

Sorry about spelling and grammar. But IDC

Something DID happen at AWAC, they gave their FOs raises and a 30k signing bonus.

I'm not entirely convinced we are overstaffing our Dash fleet bc another airline can't cover their own operation. If they can't staff, thats their problem (a short lived one i imagine after pay raises) why would our management be concerned with that? Do we get a premium for covering AWAC flying? Because all i see is PDT covering PDT flying. Furthermore, we can't replace a lot of CRJ routes with a dash.

We typically see get our routes as a company 60 days in advance, are you simply suggesting our management has reason tonbelieve there is a dramatic increase in block hours in May?

AWAC does not have a $33,000 "signing" bonus - this is what it really is:

$33,000 sign on bonus. First installment of $15,000 to be paid upon completion of IOE. Second installment of $10,000 to be paid 12 months after completion of IOE. The remaining $8,000 is to be paid out quarterly throughout year 3 of employment as an FO.

Thanks for sharing. How much is PDT's bonus, and how is it paid out? Is it for FOs only, or for CAs too?

I don't think its all their flying... but I think there is going to be a shortage. last summer was a mess... this summer is going to be worse.. ticket prices are going cheap.. economy is good... its going to be a mess..

the past few months, the dash has been to so many places we haven't in ages... new overnights.. who knows what is going on...

So, if I already have my seniority number (2017 class) and am waiting on the second "half" of my class to start + sims, is there any benefit to taking this Dash deal?

I don't understand how the reserve time will be "similar to the jet" but with a possibility for a faster upgrade.

We will all end up in PHL on the 145, I know this but if I can get some more flying time in and make a little extra in the meantime... I'd just hate to get stuck in SBY or ROA on reserve and not get any TDY pay.

And again, it's a dwindling fleet. I hope there isnt any sort of lock-in period.

There is going to be a serious draw down in awac flying due to staffing and a different reason. The bonus/retention payments are, sadly...and I mean this they are and were a great airline, as a last ditch effort to maintain their contract until the end.

That would spell big trouble for another UAL airline. What a mess this portion of the industry is. What. A. Mess.
