AWAC RJ in PVD
 

I noticed today an Air Whiskey RJ on an unused taxiway in PVD with the beacon on and the flaps down, except however, the left inboard flap was either missing or retracted. Also, the left wing fairing was either removed or heavily damaged. I wasn't able to see it clearly, any one know what happened or what was going on?

AWAC had an incident in PVD last year. They are/were planning on returning that a/c to service. Maybe it's that one?

Yeah that's aircraft 470. It's the newest aircraft in the AWAC fleet. It got dinged up last year and it has remained in PVD while a total MX overhaul on the airframe and gear is happening.

They were supposed to have it fixed by June and online in July. Sounds like they still have a ways to go before it's airworthy again.

Air Wisconsin's N470ZW runs off the runway at PVD


Air Wisconsin’s (US Airways Express) (Appleton) Bombardier CRJ200 (CL-600-2B19) N470ZW (msn 7927) slid off runway 5 tonight in a snowstorm on landing at T.F. Green Airport in Providence, RI. It was operating flight US 3758 from Philadelphia with 31 passengers and three crew. Over six inches of snow fell at the airport when the accident happened. There were no injuries but the aircraft is damaged. The incident closed both runways for about 2 1/2 hours. However the airport is now accepting flights.
