Default Guess this beats the regionals.....

After spending some time in Alaska a few weeks ago I managed to get hired on with a 135 outfit in Anchorage flying DH Beavers, 206's, 207's, Shorts Skyvans, and BE-99's. Should be another great adventure, and definitely beats applying to the regionals in time for furloughs to start! Anyone here ever flown up there? Looking for all the advice I can get!

Don't have any advice as I've never flown up there, but it sounds better than a regional job. Have fun, wish I would have done it before my airline job.

Are you flying out of Anchorage or up on the north slope?

That's awesome man. I interviewed with a 121/135 carrier up in Fairbanks not too long ago. Waiting on a class date now... Looking forward to some crazy flying up there

The most fun and the best experience I ever had was up in Alaska. I made a really bad choice by going to the regs. I have made a lot of good friends here but I cannot pay my bills. I made a lot of money flying in Alaska.

It's out of Anchorage, north slope, all over really. It's definitely gonna be a shock to this warm weather Texas boy! And yea, the pay is REALLY good compared to a regional!

So who are you working for and do they need anyone else? I flew for a while in Bethel and loved the job hated the place but I would love to be based in ANC
