The TSA is pointing fingers at some airlines for not ensuring passengers aren't improperly flagged on the terrorism watch list.

Well of course. Did you really expect the government to be accountable for anything? If they were doing their job in the first place, they would be profiling.

Does anybody find this quote particularly amusing?

"Some airlines have elected not to do what we would like to see them do, which is take care of the innocent passengers and not inconvenience them," said TSA administrator Kip Hawley.

Heres my question as a lowly FO now required by the TSA to do an 11 panel inspection every AM and when going to or from Mexico. If I don't do said inspection I get fined for not doing my job. Now lets say I find something, that means the TSA wasn't doing their job, right? (they let someone close enough to the airplane who shouldn't be there and who hid some dangerous object in an access panel). Do I get to fine them? It drives me crazy to no end how the TSA gets to heap all this blame and responsibility and dolling out fines on every one else while they just kinda shrug and say "we'll do better next time" when they miss 20 of 23 fake guns, bombs and knives sent through security (EWR last year).

Right on the nose...excellent observation

TSA is about as effective as an STD pamphlet to a *****! I can't believe they have the audacity to point fingers, after they fail 28 out of 30 inspections last year.

has anyone brought this to kip hawley's attention? Maybe then he'll realize that his organization is the problem! But then again, he'll just blame someone else!!!

And then fine us for the security breach by publicizing it. But only if you're in uniform when you criticize.

I still haven't gotten an answer as to why TSA asked me multiple times (harrassment) for my birth certificates soon after 9/11. Only because I was foreign born. On US property at a NAS hospital in spain. To 2 US citizens, serving their country in the armed forces...
