No need to be childish, it was a simple mistake that I brought to his attention.

Now repeat after me……………….Mooooosefraaaaaaaaaabaaaaaaa……….:p

tpersuit 07-25-2008 06:36 AM

lol, you lost me there for a second with EJT.

But back on the Mexico ban. I guess an article came out 2 days ago about ExpressJet getting its ops suspended in Mexico because of late ATC fee payments. Now I don't know exactly what it was about, but we were told that our ops would continue as planned. Maybe CAL makes the payments and forgot? Not sure if we would pay those or not since it is under Continental Express, but supposably we're back on schedule.

Would have sucked for a lot of passengers though, COEX does a lot of traffic to Mexico and a lot of citizens and tourists would have been stranded. I bet some of our crews were a little nervous about getting stuck down there too.

Hmmm stuck in Mexico with a margarita in hand and a seniorita who thinks you are her ticket out of the country, or go back to newark, houston, denver or wherever.....why the nervousness??

bluebravo 07-25-2008 07:05 AM

The person I talked to said that the hotel didn't have rooms for them after check out, today. That would be a very good reason not to be in Mexico right now if your stranded.

I'd take being stuck in MTY, TAM, SJD, OAX, HUX, ACA, PVR, MZT, ZLO, VER, LTO anyday.

But obviously you've never been to TLC, MLM, SLW, LOV, VSA, PBC, etc.

This is a bill that is paid by CAL. They finally paid up.

SUPPOSEDLY the fee was paid, and all is well south of the border.

500 pesos. A cabbie in Monterrey tried to get my CA and I to go pay them a visit. No thanks!:D

ToiletDuck 07-28-2008 11:19 AM

You guys are getting ripped. Laredo or Acuna $20.

kersplatt 07-28-2008 11:27 AM

And at the rate the dollar is depriciating, that is almost free. It is a bad economy when the peso is gainging on the dollar.

CTPILOT 07-28-2008 11:32 AM

man I would take being stuck in Mexico any day cuz my company forgot to pay there bookies, much better than stuck in Burlington or Pittsburgh waiting for a wheels up time back to JFK.

But last I saw bout the XJT guys stuck was a article on airliners.net

ToiletDuck 07-28-2008 11:35 AM

Or you could just not be stuck anywhere.

You must have me confused with someone else. If I had any reason to be bitter at XJT it wouldn't be because of not getting hired at a place I never interviewed at in the first place. Though I'm always willing to lay a little $$$ down and prove someone who feels so confident wrong:rolleyes: Just found it funny some find it a good thing to be stuck in another country.

newarkblows 07-29-2008 07:06 PM

no one was stuck in mexico. If our hotels overbook then they are required to find us comparable rooms elsewhere and provide transportation. It is in the contract they sign. We also have the ability to get reimbursed if we have to pay out of pocket (in theory it wouldn't be too long but there are horror stories). CAL apparently has a "fly to mexico for free" deal to improve thier economy. The details of that deal are unknown but apparently somebody south of the border never put the ExpressJet on the engine and the Globe on the tail were any different then the 737??? i dunno but when they realized it wasnt CAL flying they wanted their money. under our CPA CAL picked up the tab for all those expenses anyway so CAL paid the man... having mexican loan sharks on your ass... not fun
