my lil strap thing on the back that lugs your flight kit broke and i ended up lugging the stupid thing for 3 days...

i m borrowing an even crappier one now...$300 is like 6 monthes of pay....

CP for a small 135 company in the midwest that operates Citations. Good company, but I average between 3 - 5 days off/ month. Plus I've always wanted a 121 gig, I just couldn't afford it till now.

Spend the money on a good overnight bag. You get what you pay for there.

As for the headset, your DCs will be fine for now. I'd actually stick with it for a little while. I'm still using my 13.4s because Embraer cockpits aren't the most quiet things in the world.

This is not true, my Bose work just fine, albeit a little less quiet w/out the noise attenuation when the batteries die and I don't have extras.

I would get the metal overnight bag. I have one that isn't, and its not holding up well. Jepp binder, they will give you those, don't worry about it. Right now I have a flight bag that can serve as a labtop bag once the EFB's are up and running which isn't going to be for awhile. They are still doing 6 months of proving runs on them yet.

I got my Jepp binders and Telex 750 headset relatively cheap off of Ebay. The Jepp binders were used, but in very good condition. The Telex headsets were "rebuilt". When I got them, I would have thought they were brand new. I've had them for 4 years now and they work just as good as they did when I first got them.

I got 3 Jepp binders for $75 and my headsets for $175. So, I saved quite a bit of money by going, probably $200, minimum, through Ebay. It may be something you want to look into.
