IAD crashpad?

Any leads on an IAD crashpad would be appreciated.

crash pad

How many miles can you drive between the pad and IAD?

I won't have a car if I go to IAD. What are the chances of getting something within walking or established shuttle distance?

Can I take this to mean that there are some TSA folks opening an IAD crash pad? I will also be without a car and will need an established shuttle.

Yep, I'll probably be needing one as well...

D.C./Northern Virginia traffic is absolutely horrendous! Your only hope is a pad close-by a good Hotel and shuttle. From what I've seen, however, the Airport Hotels are fairly well grouped and centralized away from any residential areas. I'd just stay in RIC!!

RIC is most likely going away in short order after the IAD base is established... None of us buy that "We currently have no plans to close the RIC base" line...

I hope we at least have a decent dedicated TSA crew room in Dulles. I will probably do the hotel thing instead of a crash pad. I hope to be able to hold STL, but if IAD is forced upon me, there are slightly more flights from MCO to commute on. Between bidding for commutability as much as possible and sleeping in the crew room, if I can get hotel nights down to 3-4 per month, it might be cheaper and more convenient to just do that instead of screwing with a crash pad.

I wouldn't mind IAD at all if I didn't have to worry about overnight accomodations and the price.

I consider myself a professional. Honestly, sleeping in the crew room to save money seems a bit beneath me. But, it is what it is.
