Sitting in MEM flt ops today, heard there's a meeting going on to get more Delta flying. Anyone able to substantiate this?

Can't substaniate, but certainly not a shock. Management has made no secret that running only 16 -900s is not profitable, and only becomes profitable at about 30 airframes or so. They've been trying to get more Delta flying since the day they first signed the contract.

Don't believe it. Especially since H/R said they aren't going to interview again until at least November...class dates are now filled.

Have new hire classes started/been scheduled again for the next few months? If so, are new hires going to all bases or just ATL?

I once felt the touch of a woman.... but then I remembered I needed to run down to the crewroom and start more rumors.

I find it hard to believe that DAL would give them more flying due to the pending merger. I know what will happen to 9E is being debated in a different thread, but the consensus there is that DCI is going to be quite fat on a/c. 200's especially and the amount of 70 seat a/c is going to be limited due to scope clauses. Which is a good thing, the more mainline flying the better!!!

Yeah you guys will get more DL flying post merger when you are an all DCI carrier!;) Oh and be careful, it might be your brothers over at Colgan for some Q400 flying!
