Commuting Help

I'm being displaced to IAD from STL at the end of October. Wondering if anyone knows any good crashpads available then?

Also wondering if anyone has experience going to DCA, then taking public transportation to IAD/crashpad?

Any advice would be appreciated, I'm a first time commuter.
