TSA 'Agent' Arrested

This is funny, arrested at a baseball game... 'Federal Agent' Arrested At Reds Game - Cincinnati breaking news, weather radar, traffic from 9News | Channel 9 WCPO.com

'Federal Agent' Arrested At Reds Game

Claiming he was a federal agent couldn't keep a Chicago man from being arrested at a Cincinnati Reds Game on Saturday.
According to court records, when a concession employee working the View Level at Great American Ball Park refused to serve alcohol to 26-year-old Rafael Rosario, the Cubs fan asked two more times.
When Cincinnati Police asked to see Rosario’s I.D., he tensed up and claimed he was a federal agent and the officer had no right to see his I.D.
Records show Rosario is employed by the Transportation Safety Administration at O’Hare Airport in Chicago.
Police say he gave them an Illinois state drivers license, not a federal I.D. Police note Rosario, who was wearing a red Cubs shirt and blue Cubs hat, refused to cooperate with officers and had blood shot eyes and smelled of alcohol.
Rosario is charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated, and is scheduled to be arraigned Monday afternoon.

Power trip much? They all need to be arrested on general principle anyway.

Good thing Chicago agents don't have the fancy blue uniforms yet...he may have pulled a badge!

Don't be so hard on the TSA guy. He was just trying to test the vendor's security - they're not allowed to serve booze to kids, drunks, or Islamic terrorists.

In the next two days we'll see that TSA has fined the Reds for some security infraction.

Nightsky 09-08-2008 09:24 AM

Yeah - somehow out of all of this the TSA will end up fining the vendor.

Sadly I don't doubt that. I was held up yesterday while going to work IN UNIFORM because I didn't have a boarding pass. Wouldn't let me through.

Wish I could of done that, but since it was DFW I just walked down to the next checkpoint and went right through. :D Felt like walking back to the other checkpoint and boasting how the other guys let me through. Didn't think it would be a good idea though.

Pay your fee, attend a week of training, and you too could be a "Federal" agent.

They've done it too me too many times and I was sick of it. I figure my sick time counts for situations like this..

WeaselBoy 09-08-2008 10:15 AM

I got held up this morning in military uniform and boarding pass going back to Iraq. My mistake? I used my airline ID as my form ID to accompany my boarding pass because I still had it out from JS-ing from Orlando (with no problems at security.)

TSA: "You're not in uniform."
Me: "Yes, I am."
TSA: "I mean airline uniform."
Me: "I don't have to be."
TSA: "Then you need a boarding pass."
Me: "You're holding it."
TSA: "I need to get a supervisor..."
Me: (Under my breath) "...No. Just a clue."

Saxman,

Yeah, you have learned just how uneven it is! I've been down this road, working and been a selectee (I flew the airplane in and was scheduled to DH out, they FORCED the crew to exit security and secondary screened us on the way back in.)

Then I was in GFK (I think you know the place), which is WAY out of my former employers area of ops. I was SSSS but in uniform, they told me their policy was if you don't beep, we waive the secondary! BTW, I was JS, my wife was in line behind me with a pass, she got the whole strip/body cavity search. No, she wasn't impressed.

Do what you did, and realize that some airports will require you to get something from the ticket counter. Good luck, now you know why I am glad that I rarely see that side of the airport any more.

Brain injury right? Incurred by excessive pounding of one's head against the x-ray machine.

I love the supervisor at GFK...I was up visiting a sick uncle but in uniform. I thought I might have issues because I don't work for NW or Airlink but when the guy looked at me he said "don't know why we screen you guys...Heaven forgive us from letting you take control of the aircraft." I laugh and responded "yeah not to mention the crash axe that sits behind my head." TSA super (laughing hystaricly at this point: "you can keep your crash axe but we're taking your 4.5 ounces of toothpaste damn it"

Boiler up!

Ottopilot 09-08-2008 11:32 AM

I wouldn't burn my sick time for TSA. I'd call scheduling and tell them TSA won't let me to my plane. Plane leaves late. I'd still get paid.:)

mooney 09-08-2008 01:02 PM

Since the TSA guy gets to claim he is a federal agent, does that make me a military pilot since I flew Army and Air Force guys around on charters??

That story was entertaining :)

Secret agent man :p
So TSA has this big "men in black" type bunker behind the mensroom at JFK where they all sit down and conspire on how to best **** with everyone, right?

Nice story btw =)

Pilotpip 09-08-2008 05:58 PM

Probably the same moron that trashed the eagle planes at ORD.

I thought that was the whole point? Get out of speeding tickets while skipping the fee on public events.

FFDO= Federal Flight Deck Officer

Federal Officer= Federal Agent?

I could see maybe claiming this, but if he is doing this in casual conversation he is just trying to brag.

It was a casual joke. I'd say it's pretty obvious that FFDO doesn't= Federal Agent. There's just stories floating around of people using them to get out of tickets.

I agree. You'd have to be quite a tool tell a cop that you are a fellow officer of the law and to cut you some slack. However, you can say you have your service weapon with you so he doesn't freak when/if he sees it, then when he asks you who you are with, tell him FFDO and let HIM decide if you are worthy.
It's almost as bad as the private pilot bragging to girls in the bar that he is a pilot, meanwhile an airline crew is sitting right next to him...
