MESA ERJs

Why are there a lot of Delta colored ERJs parked. JFK and CVG for example. Thought there was an injunction to keep flying?

They are just ramping up operations this month and expect a full schedule in October. I believe the court case is set for spring 2009.

I think the injunction is to keep paying, not necessarily to keep flying. DAL isn't going to fly empty airplanes since they, not mesa, pay for the fuel. As long as JO get's his fee, he is probably happier not incur the Mx, liaibility, and crew costs associated with actually flying the airplanes.

Freedom ERJ's back on the October schedule in full force!

It is really happening, the planes are there, as are the crews. The question will be how long it will last. As others have said, the whispers say court date in the spring of 2009.

Delta makes the decisions regarding who flies and who doesn't. They tried to eliminate us, and we fought it. They attempted to do the same to Pinnacle, and they fought it.

Why haven't you been successful in fighting this reduction?

No one at Mesa/Freedom wants to see other pilots out of a job.

I, for one, am sorry about the furloughs. We've got people on furlough too. Best of luck to you all.

Are you defending Mesa? They are a cancer to this industry, and everyone knows that!!!

Mod note:

Let's keep the discussion respectful and flame free. If you have a problem with that, it's better to just not post.

Most people I know at Mesa hate the company more than most other "Mesa-haters" combined. Great people, poor place to work no doubt! Not all, but most guys and gals there are just stuck between a rock and a hard place with one of the most unfriendly work environments in the industry that includes the modern day Francisco Lorenzo at the helm.

As far as the company goes, it's like that big cockroach you firmly plant your heel into and hear it crunch - but then when you lift your foot up to see the splatter it runs away only to return as a bigger problem in the near future.
