Get Ready to Run

So, a few months ago, there was a thread on oil prices coming down (woot woot for oil prices). In post #6, a member of this site mentioned a naked run down 35L in DEN if oil made it to $90.

Of course, then someone will go around, demand will increase, and prices will go back up when the speculators see it on the news.

It isn't quite there yet, but seeing as how the price is at $92 right now and has been dropping pretty consistently, I thought I would call you out.

Good luck with your run. Don't forget to stretch :D

way to be paying attention srfnfly!

i got $20 on him doing it and maybe another $20 to help pay his legal fees afterwards!

waflyboy 09-16-2008 08:51 AM

There is a (legal) fun-run on ORD's new runway coming up this month. You could probably streak that one and get in a little less trouble with the law ;)

Trogdor 09-16-2008 08:57 AM

They do legal runs at PHX also.

Salukipilot4590 09-16-2008 09:26 AM

Wow I'm glad I wasn't the one who said that...

HerkFCC 09-16-2008 09:33 AM

The Chow 09-16-2008 10:01 AM

HAHAHAHA! I'll add $100!

CaribPilot 09-16-2008 11:04 AM

This is hilarious:D

Aviatormar 09-16-2008 12:11 PM

Throw in another 20 even if I'm on an LOA, that'd be priceless to see.

Ohh wait, maybe I don't want to see that at all.

pprada1 09-16-2008 01:10 PM

"...United 242 heavy is going around, there seems to be a naked man running accross 35L..." oh that would be pricless to hear on the radio, hahaha!!

Noseeums 09-16-2008 01:41 PM

Actually............ Jet fuel is at $131.50/barrel. You got a ways to go. That's 44% higher than this week last year.

Cessnadriver 09-16-2008 02:47 PM

How bout letting him wear his flip flops and wristwatch while he chases a F/A down the runway.

cbire880 09-16-2008 02:48 PM

That has more to do with the limited refining capacity in the wake of Ike than the crude oil prices. The difference is called the "crack spread." Not to be confused with the crack that will be seen running down 35L.

hahahaha perfect:D

Flyboy8784 09-16-2008 05:22 PM

Im gonna let the Sports Books in Vegas know about this little stint...we can make some HUUUUGE cash on this one :D

ugflyer 09-16-2008 05:43 PM

Funny stuff, pilots with too much time on their hands as always. But that's what makes us who we are...... demand the most pay for very little work. You guys are awesome...
As far as the guy on 35L at DEN, now that will be for the record books

jmoney 09-16-2008 05:55 PM

Anyone who stayed awake in economics knows that all things run in cycles. The higher they fly, the harder they crash. It is about to get chilly for Jessie Owens...

sargeanb 09-17-2008 11:37 AM

Watch out for those landing heavies while you run....otherwise this will happen: YouTube - Pushing Tin. Russel Bell

ChinookDriver47 09-17-2008 02:36 PM

Not anytime soon, closed at 97.50 a barrel today.

cfii2007 09-17-2008 03:09 PM

At least you can keep your clothes on for a little while longer.....

Nuts, I was getting my camera ready so I could plaster his face all over the internet on one of those motivational posters. It would say HUMILITY in big letters on the bottom.

Or I could take a different angle and put BRAVERY on one side, and STUPIDITY on the back.

BoredwLife 10-06-2008 08:33 AM

Its a bad day for the market but right now oil is at $89.53.

Naked time.

ERJFO 10-06-2008 09:02 AM

Sadly for us the crack spread is still outta whack... Sadly for the guy who ran is mouth his crack is going to be outta his pants in DEN.

eyefly 10-06-2008 09:22 AM

Can't wait to see how this works out.....

seafeye 10-06-2008 09:39 AM

Actually you can streak legally....if you do it in protest.

The police cannot charge you. This has gone to the supreme courts for woman walking topless on Daytona Beach protesting....i can't remember what but there was an article in the newspaper about how the police are powerless to arrest the individuals because of the consititution. Ahhh what a country!

mmaviator 10-06-2008 09:58 AM

coming soon to a runway near you......running of the ass. maybe he will get a nike endorsement if he is allowed to wear shoes.

Emb170man 10-06-2008 11:24 AM

I find shoes to be acceptable...as long as they are hot pink running shoes...or high heels.

ToiletDuck 10-06-2008 12:22 PM

We're back in profitable territory right now. I'd start hedging in increments if I were the Legacy guys. Looks like SWA made it just in time.

ChinookDriver47 10-06-2008 12:28 PM

$89.34.....strap on those shoes.

ToiletDuck 10-06-2008 01:19 PM

This isn't necessarily a good thing however. The manufacturing cost is still sky high due to no additional refining capability.

More importantly the economy is taking a dump like no other at the moment. Oil can go down but so will demand.

SrfNFly227 10-07-2008 10:38 AM

So glad someone picked this thread back up :D So when will this run be happening??? I would suggest soon because it is getting colder by the day and those pictures will get even more embarrassing if you wait much longer.

cfii2007 10-07-2008 11:05 AM

I'd like to see the idiot who predicted $200 barrel oil to run naked as well.

I'd be very careful expressing your desire to see a man run naked for any reason whatsoever.
