Default saab 340 question

My good buddy just got hired to fly the saab. He is wondering what type of pilot bag to purchase for the saab. I didnt want to tell him the one I use since mine is kinda wide and it fits nicely in the ERJ but im not sure about the saab. any saab guys please feel free to chime in with a good pilot bag for him.

thanks

Any bag will work, however if he is going to be at Colgan. Get one with wheels on it unless he will be based in IAH or IAD.

Why? Do the IAD/IAH based pilots actually have overnights?!!
I was going to go buy one with wheels ('cause Colgan only did out and backs back in the day, and it helped drag that thing around)

I know IAH based dudes did overnights but was not aware of IAD.... it would be nice to know.... I think I am going to go with one without wheels just in case.... time to start hitting the gym.

Yes there is overnights out of IAD, and stand ups which aren't to fun I think! My bag is pretty big I think it is a 21inch leather, it fits just fine. Good luck with ground school!

Enjoy the Saab. It was my first airliner 12 years ago. Sweet ride but underpowered as the props go. And why didn't they put an APU on it? 300 extra hp a side and an APU and it would have been the perfect prop. Flies like a champ and there is nothing about it that will scare you. Other than a hard ground school instructor who makes you memorize every little nuance about it.
