Any update on the Amr Eagle TSA Fiasco?

I was searching around and couldn't find any updates about what happened as a result of the TSA breaking American Eagle's A/C. Does anyone know? Did AMR appeal the fines? Did the TSA jerk get any disciplinary action taken against him?

Foxcow 09-17-2008 06:03 AM

What happened? I never heard anything about this.

flynavyj 09-17-2008 07:30 AM

We're breaking airplanes? news to me...

ChickenFlight 09-17-2008 07:33 AM

ABC News: TSA Snafu Grounds Nine Planes at O'Hare Field

Corny357 09-17-2008 09:30 AM

They should put electrical outlet child safety covers on the outlets in the airport because of these idiots...

I can see it now: "TSO electrocutes self while playing with outlet..."

RJ Pilot 09-17-2008 10:44 AM

They can do whatever they want. They have badges.

Colnago 09-17-2008 11:35 AM

They need to run that bastard over, whoever did it. Those TSA circus monkeys are more of a threat than help. It infuriates me to hear of this.

flynavyj 09-17-2008 12:21 PM

oh good, that whole delio, I thought someone said we were breaking the airplanes that we're returning to AMR....Good it's not the latter.

Wow. that would be expensive for TSA (airline) as I beleive its written in the lease that hey have to be returned in at the least the condition they were given in. not to mention the FAA might have a problem with it.

On the other side, I cant beleive there hasnt been any criminal charges for what this guy did. The TSA is just trying to cover their A$$ with this whole, " he was following normal guidlines for testing aircraft security" line they are trying to sell to the flying public.

Well, I was workin' in the Indian Labour Camp when they got those birds from Eagle. According to the mechs in STL, it won't be hard to return them the way they got them, they were a mess! The elevators never did feel right on those ten airplanes, don't know what Eagle did to them. The yoke sat farther back in cruise and the nearly took full up trim AND two hands to arrest the descent on landing.

That said I feel bad for my former co-workers at TSA that are getting furloughed. If history holds though you will all find better jobs that the ones you have/had at TSA.

BBFO.

He got a promotion for "bringing to light" issues related to ground security sweeps.

Sorry to all the Trans States folks. I didn't even think about that. I was wholly referring to the Smurf suited idiots that run security :)

willflyforcash 09-18-2008 07:08 PM

Oh, that Eagle/TSA fiasco. I thought it was the other Eagle/TSA fiasco that im not suppose to talk about or the thread gets closed.

oops.. did i just talk about it? ..

DYNASTY HVY 02-07-2009 03:28 PM

Any updates on this ?

ExperimentalAB 02-07-2009 04:50 PM

It died quietly...like any other TSA-caused fiasco. I wouldn't expect to hear anything until next time they bust open one of our planes

ToiletDuck 02-07-2009 05:28 PM

At first the TSA made some sort of apology but after that they later gave the guy top marks for thinking outside of the box and trying to keep us safe. That was shortly after the incident. I'd like to hear more.

johnso29 02-08-2009 08:48 AM

Disregard....I should have kept reading.

Well, if a pilot damaged some of the TSA equipment would it have made a difference whether he or she did it intentionally or not? I think you know the answer… :(

Government employees on the other hand - they just swipe it under the rug and pretend like it never happened…

Believe me when I tell you!!! You CANNOT sue a government agency without the permission of the government. I had a bunch of those TSA (Thousands Standing Around, or Throwin' Stuff Away or Tub Stacker Association) idiots destroy my clothing and lost my electric razor on a CLE to TUL flight. They would not cover a thing because of the TSA Search Rights tag affixed to the handle, 2 days later when i finally got it back.
