New Mexico Airlines
 

Any one have any digs on New Mexico Airlines (QOL, schedule, pay, etc)? Got asked about them by a student. The only info I could give was they run C208's, were started up by Pacific Wings in Hawaii, you'll work the ramp, gates, counter as well, and have stopped operations in a couple of cities.

They only have about 6-7 planes, pay is ******, i'd imagine QOL probably follows suit. Pacific wings, at least the word on the street is, the worst place to be an FO, you'll fly occasionally and throw bags and get treated generally like a red headed step child.

I have a friend who works there. 16K first year pay. Lots of sleeping at the airport.

Tell your student to run from PW. There are other places he can sit as SIC and build experience if thats what he chooses to do.

What's captain pay?

I think low to mid 30's

3 planes... pay is ******, qol isnt bad.. I'm home every night, no more overnights. fly 60-70 hrs a month; pay is the same if you fly 1 hour a month. No throwing bags or working the counter in my off time; thats only in hawaii. new mexico does things differently than hawaii. Its not a bad place if you are a low time FO, especially in todays market. I'm glad and thankful I have a job. I wouldnt be able to make rent though without someone helping me.

Any airline that has Mexico or some derivative of it in the name . . . .

Do you still have to pay your way to the interview in Hawaii?

New Mexico....it's not really New, just North.
