as of right now there will be no furloughs. we even have new hire classes running right now, and they are still interviewing. what i see this as is a way for them to get people to move to the delta side faster. they must have looked at the standing bids for people and realized there aren't enough who want to go to altanta/cvg. so the best way to do it is eliminate ca slots on the nwa side. like SE said on the pinnacle boards it all depends on the next vacancy for atlanta. all the captains that are going to get displaced will have first dibbs on the atl captain spots. i am willing to bet that the company is hoping that the guys that get displaced will go straight for the atlanta captain spots.

Airsupport that is what I have heard too. I've also heard that will be a another ATL vacancy bid opening up very soon. The reason for all this (again from what I am hearing) is that the 900 fleet size will increase by 4 in October, 4 in November, and 2 in December. As it stands now we do not have enough aircraft to support the the awarded flying by mid-October. I certainly hope this is the scenario.

yeah that is what i heard. we also are still going to be taking delivery of the rest of the 900's starting in january. i just talked with a captain the other day who is going to the 900 in atl. he put in for the vacancy starting on jan 1. he starts training in 2 weeks. will be done a couple weeks later. so he will be done with all his training by mid october but his vacancy doesn't take effect till jan 01. so they will go ahead and send him over there the day he finishes transition training, 3 months ahead of time. they are hurting for 900 guys.

and if you happen to read the displacement bid, it states training to start in november. that puts the capt.s on line by early december. much earlier than upgrade pilots because all we have to do is differences and a few sims. I do not see the "F" bomb being dropped. I hope for all of us I never have to eat those words.

After reading all of this, It seems to me that this pathetically cheap operating comany that we call Pinnacle does not want to upgrade more captains than they need, they would rather displace them from other bases. It doesnt make much sense because displacing costs a lot too. They are still hiring and they have a lot of people in the pool. Differences training costs less than upgrade training so that is there way to do it.

Correct. All I am saying is that is what I have in my standing bid. There is an entire section on displacements that in all honesty I have not brushed up on much as of yet. I am currently a MEM FO and if I get displaced from that spot we have issues, like 500 issues junior to me.... This is not good for anyone, and frankly I find it ridiculous. Rsv CA's seem to fly 30-50 hours (which seems ideal for a reserve) and we have not even touched the winter sickness months.

Who knows, this might work out for the guys who are looking to go to ATL. The last final award showed the most JR CA was hired 2 years ago so i'm sure there are guys below him waiting to go to ATL. There might not be as many involuntary displacement as we think.

Do you have your facts right? are you sure you didn't deadhead 90+ hours in Feb and actually fly only 10?

and dont worry guys, if there is a furlough here, I'm willing to bet it wont last more than 3 months, and in that time you can work at Home Depot and make twice as much, and be home every night with your family. Think of it as a mini vacation.
