what would happen to all the regionals

There would be jobs for everyone, and pay raises too...!
C'mon man, you know exactly what would happen. They both have too many CRJ's already, adding each other's excess together only means twice as many unneeded CRJ's...
And in bankruptcy, they can shed off the contracts of any regional carrier they feel like, or park all the planes of the regionals they own.
What you have to ask yourself is just how bad it is going to get if Delta, Northwest AND Continental merge into one Big Mo-Fo.
Fact is, there is going to be a lot less demand for RJ's in the very near future. Much like musical chairs, there is a real possibility that one or more regionals are going to get left without someplace to sit when the music stops...

If you are in a regional, ANY regional, get out NOW! Any place is better than the regionals. There is no future in the regionals because they will continue to be whipsawed against each other for lower pay and will never get anything bigger than big RJ's.

Punk, do you ever proof read your posts. I have to read them like five times before I understand what the hell you are talking about.
Yeah, getting out of a regional job is a great idea. Ill just take my logbook and its 1/16 full pages and get myself a nice job over at Virgin Atlantic, I hear they are hiring at 700/250 now so I'm in!
