I guess now we know why Mesaba is hiring...

I'm really starting to think ASA will be without a seat when the music stops.

Congrats, you'll get the ATL-HHH route....I think that's the summation of it all

So this is the reason for giving furloughed pilots preferential hiring at Mesaba.

Hopefully we can throw MCN and CSG in there as well.

When are ASA's ATR's suppose to be parked? Or is that happening now?

Most of the ATRs are parked, maybe 7 left? It'll be interesting to see how Delta handles ASA/Skywest. 80% of DCI flights by contract.

Given the tumultuous markets and industry right now, I don't place a lot of faith in contracts...

I don't want anyone to lose a job or anything, but as an XJ employee, NONE of us has a contract ironclad enough that would make either Delta or Northwest bend to the written word.

I always thought that when Northwest merged into another airline, Northwest would be the name to remain. I was very surprised that the name "Delta" would be the survivor. Then I realized that most of the power people from old Northwest are running Delta and came to realize that it's just about the money.

I am truly sorry for the people at the Delta regionals that aren't used to the Northwest style of negotiations. It's painful, it changes on a whim, and the BEST that you can hope for is to get an agreement, then be ignored.

The only way that I see any change possible is to get all the mainline pilots and regional pilots working together to hold the line. Unfortunately, in the NW system anyway, the most we get is ignored by the vast majority of the group. At worst we are the enemy as you guys have seen on the DL side.

All I can say is good luck to all of us.
