You will have to give up senority at your current airline. Why would an airline want to hire someone who wants to hold onto their previous senority, so they can jump ship?
Now does anyone know if they're hiring into the Q |

I don't think they are hiring into the Q..... but I have been wrong in the past so I guess this is not the time to start being right.
They are not hiring into the Q. The Q classes have been for attrition and/or fattening up the crew ratio only. The few FOs that have been in class have only been transitions coming from the 1900 or the 340 and then street hired FOs have been going to class to fill open saab seats. They will probably not hire for the Q until maybe...January 2010 or so when they ramp up for the new planes. |
I know that they are hiring for the Saab currently, and I do believe SGT is correct about the Q ... we are not getting anymore Qs for a long time (and by that I mean a year), and the only reason we would hire more FOs is if we had FOs quit. We had 4 FOs quit on the Saab in IAH over the last 2 months alone. That, combined with the word from management that they are holding one upgrade class a month, with 4 per class, for the Saab, they will be hiring for the Saab for at least the next month or two I would say.
BTW, what airlines allow you to keep your senority?! I've never heard of such a thing. |
