RRR at ASA
Just wondering if the new ASA ready reserve guidelines that the MEC emailed out about a month ago were being followed. Thoughts?
I've been on COMA for October and need to know if I should expect to continue to get the RRR shaft when I return. |
My experience has been yes and no. I will have had it twice this month on this Sunday. The first time they gave me 1 hour and 50 mins notice, not per the agreement. On this Sunday they gave me the 6 days notice. They still seem to be handing it out like candy. I am 1800 callout and it looks like the 06, 09, and 12 guys really get pounded.

Is the "new" rule enforceable via grievance or merely a gentleman's agreement Scheduling can ignore? My understanding it it's the latter.
|
I have 0400 reserve this month and I have sat RRR five times so far. It could be that most days I'm the only 0400 in my bucket. They haven't been following the agreement with my schedule, calling me for RRR the day before then having to accept changes when I duty in for RRR two days out.

You're right, it is not contract enforceable. Just a "gentlemen's" agreement. A MOU or LOA or something of the sort would be nice. We'll see... |

As much as we hate to say it ALPA is a joke. It has no power to do anything, if THE MAN wants to hold us down, they do.......grieve it if you don't like it.....what is that

Whether a grievance is filed of not is political. If it is an issue that will embarrass the MEC or something they have a handshake agreement on, or something that will hurt the more senior pilots, your grievance will NOT be filed. |
Mr. Blodgett needs a talkin' to from BH
|
The intent was to start with a handshake agreement, and then later (a month or two) after figuring out if it works or not convert it to a MOU.
