This is unbelievable. All the low paid regionals are getting all this new flying and we at ASA are downgrading captains to FO. When the hella is ASA going to get some reward for going from crap to an ontime respectable airline. Does 80% of ATL DCI flying not mean a thing after a merger??

Losin my motivation to fly ontime pretty fast here.
Welcome to the club. It's the same at Comair.

I just sent my application to Mesaba hoping to hear something from them soon.

I hope this Delta and Northwest merger will help expand the flying at Mesaba.

Default You couldn't be more wrong.

Here, I'll straighten you out.

Freedom had 7 CRJs. Delta is in the process of taking them away from Freedom, and they're not going to Mesaba. They're going to Pinnacle. I know, because Pinnacle is already operating 3 of the 7 Freedom planes, and they'll take delivery of the final 4 within the next week.

Don't believe me? Pinnacle is currently operating N605LR,N606LR,N607LR.

Now, is Mesaba going to get 15 new CRJ-900's? I bet they are. But they aren't getting Freedom's.

Everyone needs to realize 75% of Mesaba's pilot group has a longevity of less than 1 year. They all thrive off rumors and drink the company koolaid. None of them know what happened back in 2005. It takes time to realize all these games management plays. We were all new once.

Ya... good luck with that! That'll work really well. Go ahead and peeve off your customer (Delta), and I'm sure they'd be glad to give you more flying.

Weren't those ones from Freedom to be operated on a temporary basis? I'll believe this new planes rumor when we start getting them on the line.

I agree, but profit continues to be the bottom line. As long as someone can do our flying at a lower rate and not blow chunks doing it, we will continue not to get anything else new.

Frankly, I think you all should worry less about who gets awarded what flying from Delta and more about combining Mesaba-Comair-Compass onto one seniority list. At least the combination of Mesaba-Comair. That would be the only thing I would think would be beneficial for your situations.

Ain't goin to hapen, it would make USair East v. West look tame. Too many people at the 1 year mark at Mesaba and 7 year FO's at Comair. Out of fairness it can't be DOH, and well not too many people will go for being junior to some guy straight out of college with 1000hrs.

Yea it would have been a MUCH easier thing to do back in 2005 before the bankruptcies. Today it would be rather ugly with how disproportionate the junior captain lines are at each place.
