This is unbelievable. All the low paid regionals are getting all this new flying and we at ASA are downgrading captains to FO. When the hella is ASA going to get some reward for going from crap to an ontime respectable airline. Does 80% of ATL DCI flying not mean a thing after a merger?? Losin my motivation to fly ontime pretty fast here. |

Good luck, unless Delta has modified ASA's agreement you will not be moving that many in. Remember, ASA takes 80% of all flying in ATL per their contract. Are we taking over some of your bases in exchange as to spread the DCI Carriers? This rumor seems like bs unless DAL is totally restructuring the system and changing contracts.

Here, I'll straighten you out.
Freedom had 7 CRJs. Delta is in the process of taking them away from Freedom, and they're not going to Mesaba. They're going to Pinnacle. I know, because Pinnacle is already operating 3 of the 7 Freedom planes, and they'll take delivery of the final 4 within the next week. Don't believe me? Pinnacle is currently operating N605LR,N606LR,N607LR. Now, is Mesaba going to get 15 new CRJ-900's? I bet they are. But they aren't getting Freedom's. |
To me, it seems like we're all sitting in the corner of the room doing backflips trying to get Daddy's ( Delta ) attention while watching the football game...

For what it's worth I found this on another thread and found it interesting.
Richard Anderson The great piece here is between Compass and Mesaba you have the very best operators in cost structure. So, our goal with our contract carriers is to bring their margins down over time to more accurately reflect the overall margins in the industry. And Compass and Mesaba will give us that ability to shift flying from contract carriers to owned carriers at much better CASM. Here's the link: Delta Air Lines, Northwest Airlines Merger Call Transcript - Seeking Alpha Caveat: No one knows what is going to happen until it actually happens but the indications are all pointing in the direction of Mesaba getting more CRJ9s. What will actually happen to Mesaba and Compass after the merger, though, is a total speculation at this point. |
all of that was said during the press confrence when they first announced they wanted to merge. i think saving face and trying to make it look like a good deal was all they were trying to do.
