Republic Recalling

Looks like the first round of recalls is happening. Cool.

boilerpilot 11-03-2008 11:16 AM

How many and what's your source

Niner 11-03-2008 11:22 AM

Supposedly its around 14 or so. Got mine today.

Windsor 11-03-2008 11:26 AM

good to hear. Too bad it looks like its coming at the expense of YX pilots.

imasaluki 11-03-2008 12:11 PM

spread the recall virus around, Republic.

Beechlover 11-03-2008 01:28 PM

Still waiting on mine, but spoke with a few guys below me who got theirs. The recall is back to original equipment (CRJ/145) but CRJ FO letters are saying there's a possibility to be displaced to shuttle on the 170. (Don't know about the 145 folks). Just glad to be getting back to work!

I am a YX pilot(former Skyway pilot) I just want to say that its not our fault what is happening there. It is just how this industry works. But, people like you I can't stand always blaming someone else... I bet if you were in our shoes you would fly this airplane too, no matter what the code share is... Or at whose expense... and if you say no you are a big liar.

By the way what did Midwest Pilots do for us, did they say we will not fly and ground those 80's/717; I think not. Its a two way street but remember only 1 will win in the end. Also, I agree there are Midwest pilots who did care but did they do all that they could, I think not.

Remember pilots are its worst enemy, and so am I and everyone else here. Talk is cheap... I would fly that airplane in the Midwest color, any day and any time.

P.s. I really do feel bad on what is happening there but I TOO AM A VICTIM OF WHAT IS HAPPENING THERE AT YX, SINCE i WAS A FORMER SKYWAY PILOT.

Its nothing personal its just business...

Say again, your grammar is broken and english is unreadable.

I don't think the poster you're referring to was blaming pilots, he/she was probably blaming the predatory nature of Republic Airlines.

waflyboy 11-03-2008 03:04 PM

So are they sending guys to Honolulu?

Pilotpip 11-03-2008 04:18 PM

There were more than enough volunteers for HNL. Keep the recalls coming. I'm hoping I'm in the next round.

SkyStormer6 11-03-2008 04:35 PM

So what's the total # still out on furlough after this round of recalls. I apologize for being lazy and not wanting to search for it.

Pilotpip 11-03-2008 04:39 PM

From the union, all the voluntaries plus about 15 involuntaries. Sounds like a few will defer the recall however after all is said and done this will bring it down to about 130 total.

SkyStormer6 11-03-2008 04:53 PM

Thanks pilotpip, I wish you all the best. I have friends at RAH and at one time aspired to be there myself. Maybe this will signal a shift in the industry in general. I know that might sound desperate but who knows.

"Predatory nature", thats funny. I can see Bryan now walking around like Elmer Fudd looking for weak and strugling airlines to take down and reduce his compition.
Be wary wary quiet, its 50 seat season, wuhuhuh.

How about aggressive. Bedford's job is to go get business, it keeps the shareholders happy and the employees well, employees. Personally I don't want the guy giving a damn about someone elses companies employees. He's got 5000 of his own to worry about.

There seem to be a couple of actual upgrades mostly just looked like movement.

Are you serious? Name a company or organization that only uses karma when developing their business model. Business is business.

I agree BBedford.

I could name a few, but they're all out of business. If any of you want to learn about business, read "The Art of War". That's what governs it. Businesses are in business to stay in business, and worrying about the feelings of the other businesses out there does not help if you want to stay in business.

Yeah it sucks, but thats the way it is and the way it must be. Business is pretty predatory in nature.

This kinda makes me laugh. Bedford has loaned money to a lot of current and former codeshares HELPING them stay afloat. In the case of Midwest, 100% of their pilots would likely be out of work had it not been for the deal you all hate so much. It sucks, but its not Bedfords doing. Midwest's management drew this one up, and Bedford was more than happy to get his planes flying again. Its not good that anyone is out on furlough, but RAH doing that Midwest flying may be the reason Midwest is still operating at all. Bedford is going to post a large profit as he always does, but hes not exactly causing anyone elses demise.
