Well, they are still accepting LTOA's and if you look at the staffing levels of DFW and ORD they are way overstaffed... so, either they expect to be getting more flying soon, or the 30 person a month attrition rate is still holding... I know my number keeps moving up. If you pull the base list and check all the inactives, not the resigned, alot of people are taking the LTOA's.

When was the last time your number moved up? July? The lists are only updated every 6 months. Are you talking about in base? I am just curious because I don't see any possible way attrition is involved here to a great extent (and obviously no growth).

Also, I don't like to be negative but to all those people waiting for hiring to restart I would be skeptical because of the economic downturn. Anyone hired in 2009 should consider themselves on borrowed time and have a very good backup plan.

And Eagle is overstaffed right now but because of the training cycles it evens out. By spring 2009 when alot of training is finishing up then flying will pick up and staffing should be pretty close. Thats why I would be hesitant to encourage anyone from trying to get hired on unless there is some major growth next year.

Check your HI1, your company (Eagle-Exec) number is there. Yes, the official ones only come out twice a year, but I've been watching my number in division drop constantly.

Every Pilot should have a backup plan.... which is why those nifty Aviation Degrees are so useless... not to mention overly expensive.

Ummm, not.... Eagle lost over 1,700 hours less than they originally anticipated, and that was flying they found out about AFTER they ran a combined vacancy/displacement bid... even with the extra 1,700 hours we're still overstaffed. With all those people down at the schoolhouse... and us being overstaffed now... what do you think will happen in 5-6 months when all the major training cycles are done? If the normal 20-30 attrition from LTOA's and resignations doesn't continue, you can expect another email from the brainless fearless leader explaining how they have re-evaluated their operational needs and voluntary furloughs will be accepted to be followed by forced furloughs if not enough go...

Using the N6D or HI33 if you're on reserve you can see your number and that gets updated around the 12th of every month. Hey that's today! That's exciting.

Since I realized it probably got updated I went on to Sabre and checked. I moved up 23 since last month. That's the most I've moved up in quite awhile. I think I only moved up around 10 last time.

It's tough to tell what attrition and staffing are right now. Some equipment is understaffed, like DFA, but others are very overstaffed. Looking at your number in DECS right now is especially not accurate with training in full swing and about 15-20 a month are moving over to Executive. On the latest flowplan I counted 25+ between Oct 12 and Nov 12 that have gone from Eagle to Exec. Depending on how senior you are that could account for a significant part of the change in your seniority number.

With regard to the N6D number that you all are using, I think some of the movement may be a result of people transferring laterally between Eagle and Executive. My number went up by about 30 (meaning I am more junior) a couple months ago and I was told that was the reason. Thats why I asked before about the master list. Don't forget all the Saab and DFW jet displacements who are going to Executive to stay in Dallas. I am very skeptical that there is any attrition now.

Oh yeah, guess I should have read more carefully- coldpilot just said the same exact thing...so there you have it

I might be wrong but I think it's up to the company to decide, usually based on station staffing. If LGA will be understaffed then they might transfer people ASAP. On the other hand, if JFK remains understaffed, they can keep you there until next May (6 months).

Hopefully there will be a new flow plan coming out soon to reflect the latest bid results.
