DO you guys recall how long after 911 hiring resumed at the airlines?

Depends what airline, all stopped..American still hasn't resumed. It was at least a couple years for the (major) airline that took the least amount of time to resume.

Horizon's first class back was February 2003.
Eagle's was January 2004.

this isn't 9/11. this is a fundamental collapse.

The overall economy.

I'm sure what he means is this is wayyy different from 9-11. Airlines have been hit on two fronts. Fuel prices have slowly wounded the airlines and now with the economy in shambles, it is only rubbing salt in it. I'm not sure what will happen... things have only gotten really bad in the last couple months. It could be a while before we see the long term repercussions. (just like fuel prices...)

This is different from 911. It's George Bush and the republicans fault that the economy is in the tank. Thankfully Obama takes office next month and will turn things around.
