The wheels are coming off at Pinnacle

LOL. Just sit back and watch boys. I can't help but laugh.

How does this operation exist? Can't get a hold of scheduling. Dispatch can't get updated runway condition reports. (gave them 45 minutes.) What a joke.

Its only December and the wheels are coming off.

12/22/08 - 58 hours CA opentime and 14 hours FO opentime. Good luck filling it.

What was that displacement memo we just got?

Can't wait to see this place in February. Anyone got any stories?

LOL, it ain't just Pinnacle.

Spoke to a co-worker at the sim factory yesterday who's husband is at Continental. They have so much open time the next 7 days it's a wonder the airline will be able to operate. And this is after all the furloughs. Shoot yerselves in the foot. :)

No OT at SkyWest LoL...It seems as though 40% of the Pilot group here is on a semi-permanent Vacation :D

Everybody gets sick over the holidays. EVERY YEAR.

I won't fault anyone for their use of sick time during the year but calling in sick on Christmas eve or day is just poor form, unless of course you are legitimately sick.

Someone has to work Christmas, and if you're junior and one of those people, accept it. Don't screw someone else into working your awarded trips b/c your too junior to hold the holidays off.

Unless you're on reserve, and don't live in domicile like me. I'm trying to figure out how I can fly as many days possible in my 14 day reserve stint. :D I hate sitting in the crashpad. :o

Last month was like being on vacation, but this month I'll probably block 50 hours on reserve.

Really??? I just looked. Even on the 737 the coverage is better than 5 to 1. For example on the 24th out of IAH there are 4 trips in open time with 24 reserves and on the 25th there are 5 trips with 36 reserves available. It's about the same out of EWR. On the widebodies the coverage is closer to 10 to 1. A lot of reserves are getting the week off. True, there are a lot of trips "advertised", meaning guys are hoping someone will pick up their trip, but there's very little open time. I just spoke with a friend in the crew room yesterday who's on 737 reserve. He said he's flying about one turn a week right now. For the month he's flown 29 hours.

I think we'll operate just fine, unless we get hit with a heavy EWR storm, and having the furloughees back for that wouldn't make any difference because crew scheduling would, as usual, still be overwhelmed. I really wish we had a compelling need to drive the company to return the guys on furlough, but unfortunately it doesn't look like its there in the current schedule.

I'm filing 4 grievances for crap that happened to me in a 12 hour period
Or should I say they tried to make happen to me...

Don't worry our fearless leaders will soon put the training wheels back on the operation in time for Spring Break.......

Every winter, same crap. My puppy learns faster than our management.

Yup, people get sick, and now you probably have a few more timing out for the year.
