I know one pilot that decided he'd rather go work at a Lockheed FSS - he'll be making better money than me for about the next 12 years, assuming I stay on a perfect career track

ATC, 121/135 dispatch, private FBO ops (management and such), consulting, NTSB, FAA, any entry level office job (with a degree), and of course fast food and customer service industry....did I miss any?

You can do anything you want, what you went to school for means very little in the "real world", its knowing the right people and using whatever experience you have to show how you are a capable individual, i.e. Pilots are able to work under extreme stress, team players, work well with strangers etc..........

Sales is where the money is, and that is ALL PERSONALITY, if people like you, they will buy what ever crap your selling.........

I am going to do some substitute teaching on the side, I just hope I am nto too tempted by the HS girls :)

I think ATC would be a rather simple decent conversion.

That actually sounds like a really good idea ... I hear they get paid per day, and it's like $100 or so depending on what state you work in.

I'm gonna have to look into that one ... thanks Saab

You're going to substitute teach? All the while balancing your career as a pilot and your duties as an f/o rep? Glad to see our f/o's are covered up in EWR. Maybe you should keep stuff like that to yourself Joe.

I've been subbin everyday since my early fall furlough. It's really not that bad. I will say this though about being a sub. I know most people who have done the CFI thing learned very quickly to value your life. I've been through alot as a CFI but nothing like a sub. I've seen 2 guns. 1 shootout. One cafeteria riot(not to be confused with a foodfight). Too many fights(blood) to remember. Walked into several classrooms with students making sweet, sweet love. By the way, turns out that gets you expelled. A gun gets you a 10 day suspension but sex...youre goin to alternative school. I know several police detectives by name. Driving a barbie jet around was never this fun.
