This place has finally gotten as bad as Flightinfo.
Here's a clue... if you think the thread is dumb, don't read it and respond!
Who's worse? Someone who whines about an issue they thought was important, or the 5 or so posters who take 14 pages to tell him to quit whining because THEY don't have a problem with it, so he shouldn't either?

We did not get hosed. I think we got a deal. ASA management deserves credit for not letting the fee per segment or fee per mile get implemented.

That being said, my opinion is that this thread has probably gone as far as it can. No point in arguing with a clepto-maniac about why its wrong to steal.

I don't think JP's wayward opinions are echoed throughout the pilot group at ASA. I'm sure the majority of pilot there are mature, professional aviators who carry a greater sense of decency and rationale.

He can kick and scream all he wants. He's still going to have to pay $200+ if he wants to non-rev. It's a crappy thing to be whining about, considering the current state of the industry.

I can't think of a captain I've flown with here who as ever thought twice about letting a jumpseater on.
My experience is that the guys who shout the loudest on the internet, cower the fastest in person. I can pretty much assure you that if JP was trying to jumpseat home or to work on a mainline aircraft, it would be a completely different song and dance when he walks up to the cockpit.
I, for one, would rather offer and give a ride to someone like JP, then bump a decent, normal ASA pilot because of people like JP.
Every group has one, and they only gain any clout if you acknowledge them.
