Default MESA Hawaii Base

Will the new airline consist of Junior or Senior MESA pilots, I'm thinking Junior right?

They should know for sure in about a week, the bids are already done I hear.

The suspicion is that it will go junior for FO's due to the cost of living and the commuting hassle...try to jumpseat on Hawaiian..hahahaha

Also the local pilots don't seem too happy about the Mesa invasion, so there will probably be beat-downs to be endured...

Looks like they will have to avoid flying Hawaiian or Aloha.

Yeah I heard the same thing, I also heard that we have a class of about 60 CRJ fo's going into class on feb 13th so when they finish in about 8 weeks many will mostlikely find a home in Hawaii on a rj-200. But I guess we will see soon enough.

Default how long will it last?

I can't but wonder what kind of maintenance headaches Mesa will run into. On top of that, I'm sure that Island, Aloha, and Hawaiian will do whatever it takes to completely slaughter Mesa. It'll be fun to watch!

Yeah I'm sure the salt water and other environmental factors will take their toll. As far as the slaugtering Mesa...well i don't see that happening. At least not with old J.O. at the helm. As bad as it is for the industry he refuses to let the competition win a bid.
Although their isn't much I can do I really do wish that someone in the industry would get smart and start increasing the rates on these tickets before we are all making 10K a year. Just remember that almost every porduct in the world has increased due to inflation mor some other factor, except the airlines ticket prices. I believe aot of this is due to the extreme competition between routes that we have today. Unfortunately, the management seems to think that everyone should be bale to fly these days. It wasn't long ago that some actually bought train tickets or greyhound passes; and the pilots actually made decent wages.....Ahh the memories. Oh one more thing, who do you fly with blazer?

What everyone seems to be forgetting is WHY is JO moving into HI???

Cuz he really wants to sell his own tickets in a cut-throat environment?... Not...

He's going to code share with several majors who serve the islands from the mainland...already has 2 or 3 lined up apparently.
