I don't know about MSP, but DTW and MEM base managers were great to work with. Some of the admin folks (in MEM at least) had some bad streaks but I would not wish for any of them to lose their jobs over it. This is another sham that is Pinnacle management. I have not heard the real reasons behind the BS but the various speculation reasons are interesting.

I believe MI is "at will". Finding the law will take more time than I'm willing to give, but this is from a lawyers website.

Most employment in Michigan is "at will." In other words, there is nothing illegal about an employer taking an adverse action against you for any reason, for no reason, or for an unfair reason.
What is an "adverse action?" An employee doesn't have a case without it. Being fired, demoted, denied a promotion, or not being hired may fit the bill. Merely being treated unfairly, or being given a bad performance review, is generally not enough. However, if it rises to the level of a "hostile work environment" that may satisfy the requirement of an adverse action. (See the Harassment Claims section.)
Discrimination Claims

An employee must be able to establish that there was something more than unfair treatment on the basis of the following "protected characteristics":
Race, color, sex, marital status, age, religion, height, weight, or national origin. (Note: while sexual orientation or gender identity are not protected characteristics, in limited circumstances, you may be able to prove it was sex discrimination.)
Proving discrimination requires showing:
  1. That you were a member of a protected class;
  2. That you were qualified for the position;
  3. That the employer took an adverse employment action against you;
  4. That the adverse employment action was because of unlawful discrimination, and that the employer's stated reason for the adverse employment action was not the real reason, or "pretext."

I am 8 months removed from 9E, and my info comes from another ex Airlinker, so correct me if I am wrong.

It's my understanding that the're merging the flight ops and inflight departments to cut back on managers and clerical staff. All of the managers would have to reapply for a Manager or Assistant Manager position in each domicile. So its possible that pilots would end up with an inflight person as their base manager.

It doesn't sound like this is going to be alot of fun.

here is the low down on it.

they have "layed off" the pilot base managers and assistant base managers and the flight attendant base managers and assistant base managers. The company is planning on making it one group. right now there are 4 managers per base. they want it down to 2 per base. they have the chance to reapply but they will only take 1 from each group. for example in memphis they will not have the new positions filled strictly by the pilots managers, nor will they have it filled by the inflight managers. it will be one of each.

i feel sorry for the base managers that are losing their jobs over this. but it is going to lean out the management side of things.

On a different forum I read, "looks like the company is going ahead with leaves of absence now. Some CAs have already applied for and been approved for up to 6 months."

Any more details, such as how many LOAs are being offered to Pinnacle CAs?

That is pretty much what I heard as well. It will suck when some ex inflight manager calls you to find out why you were one minute late for whatever. If memory serves me right, they were a real pain with the FA's whever there was a delay.

I hope the inflight managers that they hold on to take the time to learn the other side of the house.

Unless things have changed dramaticly in the last 9 months, alot of them have never flown the line anywhere. I went in to talk to one guy years ago to complain about my line and his first question for me was "what is a line?":eek:
