A little more flying for Mesaba?
Ran across this article after my grandparents saw it in the local paper. To summarize, starting in April, Mesaba will be operating some Saabs to provide direct flights to and from select Florida cities with Tallahassee being the main focus. Looks as well that the state of Florida is going to subsidize any monetary losses to keep the flights going.
Any idea if this will cause a new hire class or two? Delta to resume flights between Tallahassee and Tampa International - St. Petersburg Times |
I guess hoping is better then nothing. If that flying does increase some flying, it probably won't be enough for everyone in the pool. Best of luck to you Driver Driver since you should be in the front.

Unfortunately we are already overstaffed by quite a few pilots....plus with PBS starting in a few months that will mean we need even less pilots also...
but it is still positive news nonetheless |

Well nothing about this has been announced by Mesaba. However, not only are we still way overstaffed, but we aren't getting any new airplanes, at least that any of us know. So all this means is that they will most likely take away planes from Memphis flying and bridge them over to the Florida flying, like we will be doing in Atlanta in a couple weeks...

There's a link on Deltanet about Mesaba now starting to fly for Delta. There's also a link about the Florida flying with the SF340
He goes on to say this is not additional flying for Comair. |

There's also a letter from the soap tool today that says Comair will start doing some Airlink flights in April - between GSO, MSP, DTW, MCI, and GRR.

How the hell does any of this make sense for delta to do? Bridge Saabs out of MEM to do intra-florida flying???
Make Comair do Airlink flying (which they've never done), an animal that is about the be extinct... i mean this creates costs right... training for FA's etc. |
