Don't feel bad about the 300 furloughed Comair pilots, since Delta is apparently sending "spare" Comair planes to ASA, Mesaba, and SkyWest too. |

So what would you suggest, Delta not rebrand previous airlines and have kept Pan Am and Western liveries around to save money.
They are throwing money away by keeping hundreds of money losing 50 seat RJs flying. Not by repainting them. You and your brethren at the legacy's are to blame for this. Got Scope??? Either take the flying back or quit your whining. |

Just a question. Just give an answer. I'll answer for Boomer. It's another "my regional is better than yours and you stole our flying" bleeding heart tyrade. Don't feel bad for the displaced Pinnacle captains Boomer.......you do realize your pilots aren't the only ones hurting, and it's not Pinnacles fault, don't you?? wait...apparently not. amazing how a question about painting airplanes can get turned into this. |

Regional prior to DAL. During furlough worked at a regional and was in their training department. Read any of my posts and ask why I make DAL look bad or you look bad? When Comair struck, I defended that action and educated the Captains who knew nothing about the regional industry how important that strike was for the entire industry. Sadly, no other regionals followed their lead and the Comair pilots have been decimated as a result. Who is worse for the industry, Comair when they were making $118/hour at top end pay or Pinnacle who has endured a 4 year contract negotiations for $69/hour? Who has expanded and who has contracted? My post above was directed at the guy who thought we shouldn't rebrand the airline because it costs money. The reality is its not the painting but the 50 seater itself that's a money losing airplane for DAL. Don't believe that? Watch the reality set in the next few years. My wish, is that the regionals as separate seniority lists would cease to exist and that if you fly on an RJ or 777 its all one list. But if as you say, I'm all over the board, maybe I should just change my tune and adopt the populist mindset. |

Just a question. Just give an answer. The poster asks if Pinnacle is extending LOAs because planes will need to be painted, in other words will Pinnacle pilots be flying less. To which I reply that Comair planes are going to Pinnacle to make sure Pinnacle keeps flying. Then I add in sarcastic fashion that Comair planes are going to three other DCI regionals and, in a related story, 300 Comair pilots are on the street. To which someone accuses me of "my regional is better" when in fact it is "my regional blows and Delta will make yours blow too." That's the point to the post. |
