Take Cape Air from San Juan. There are at least 10 flights per day in between St. Thomas and San Juan. My buddy from Cape Air says that he is usually half full on every leg, and also said that quite a few of his passengers are Eagle commuters, or other pilots on vacation.

STT and STX are considered domestic with AA, so jumpseating should be no problem.

Right, but you don't need a passport to go the the U.S. Virgin Islands so I am not sure how it is classified....

I just caled their non-rev line and they told me it was international. So no jumpseating.
There is confusion among their stations as to the "limited jumpseat" versus "unlimited jumpseat". If there are 2 jumpseats ie. 757 only 2 offline jumpseaters are allowed regardless of seats available 737 only 1 jumpseat according to the AA FOM so only 1 offline jumpseater. This is straight from the Captain of my SJU flight who was nice enough to look into for me. Now out of BOS today the agent told me that that was the old rule and has changed to allow more jumpseaters in back if the seats are available. So who knows. |
Guys, this is straight off our jumpseat list: STT and SJU are considered Domestic U.S. and therefore, you ARE allowed jumpseat access, no problem.

We'll take you at Spirit as well if you are on the recip J/S list. There are 2 cockpit seats as well as one extra FA seat on almost every plane and we treat both of those destinations as domestic.

Bump.
Since St. Thomas is considered domestic by most airlines, it sounds like it is possible to physically ride in the jumpseat (not in the cabin). Is this also true returning back to the States? Can you ride in the jumpseat back to the States? Also, is it true that you don't need a passport to get to St. Thomas but DO need one to return to the States? Thanks. Does anyone know how to be listed on Cape Air? Is there a listing phone number? |

I don't have it handy but if you go to flycapeair.com it'll be on the site (on my iPhone currently). |
