well the company email said he used to work for us, and was previously with Midwest. maybe he just wanted to come back and work for an airline with more than 9 airplanes!

My understanding is he has worked at PSA, ACA, Independence, and Midwest. Not a huge winning list two of the 4 of those are gone (I know ACA and Independence were the same), and Midwest has been picked apart. To be honest I am a little concerned, but this is all just second hand info.

Nothing good happens at PSA.

I think Airborne Express is also part of his illustrious resume.

ABX Air from 95-04, was System Chief Pilot for at least some of those years. From ABX went to Independence then Midwest.

I knew I missed one.

I heard this guy just came over from Midwest. We know what Midwest management likes to do to their employeees.

He came from Midway Express or Midway Connection back in the late 80's. They flew DO-228's and EMB 120's. He was either the DO or CP for the commuter operation. He came to PSA when PSA acquired EMB 120's from Midway. Then went to work for ABX probably around '95. Lost track of him after that.

Regardless...sounds like a winner!

BankAngle09 05-03-2009 05:28 AM

Considering Houk hired him, I'm sure he is gonna be a grea thing for the labor side (sarcastic)... My Captain this month isn't happy bout it

Z is not a bad guy at all. Worked for him at PSA and Airborne. He is very
experienced, and has mellowed out over the years. Very fair person, just
show up for work most of the time and operate according to SOP'S.

I've spent some time with Mark, he's a good guy.

BankAngle09 05-04-2009 03:35 PM

Thanks for the info its nice to hear a second side to things! a month with the wrong guy/gal can make you wonder

Jetstream 823JS 05-05-2009 06:05 PM

Mark is a good guy. I think he will be a big step up from TK.

If we impress him with our professionalism, we'll be OK.

If he sees us as a bunch of climb to 41O and flame the engines out yahoos, we will be in for trouble.

He did coin the term jetstream cowboy.

What happened to T K ? The term Jetstream Cowboy came from
a BA instructor at Dulles when they did the sim trg. He used the
phrase "deep seeded cowboy tendencies".

I taught with him when he was a student instructor in college. Very competent and very fair to his students. Every one he sent me for a checkride was well prepared. A very through guy. Have spoken to some guys who kept in touch with and worked with him over the years, all very positive, not surprising.

He learned from a real hardass who was an excellent pilot. So yeah, if you show up, do the job and follow the rules, I'd expect he'll be a great guy to work for. And yeah, he's a very good stick and rudder man.

Hit the "stupid" switch or the fool button and you get what you bargain for.
