That is fantastic! You can't make this stuff up!

Well this simply takes STUPID to an entirely new level, like Hubble Telescope Level!

The STL FSDO's arugment is that the plane was certified with those David Clarks. So the company replaced the all the headsets to new David Clarks. Now they say we have to use them.

If they want to be that pickey, than if no foam covers over the mic, than no gooooooo!

I think for the first week or so, the foam covers were on there...then they all magically disappeared...hmm...I wonder where they could have gone???

Yes, our POI know everything about running an airline...ugh.

Claim ADA and use your own headset if it's not a DC. I mean there's headaches from the clamping pressure, the weight of the headset causing neck and shoulder problems, the loss of hearing with reduced ear protection, crabbies from unclean headsets, and so on. One can be quite creative once off probation.

The crabbies line worked for Disney employees.

wait wait wait.... The FSDO is stepping in on this? If so their view on things is complete BS and I'd take it to a higher level in the FAA. An aircraft being approved with one type of headset is the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. So long as other headsets meet the requirements, which most do, they are legal to use.

Hmm...I dont think I'd use one of those clamps...

Might come down with GonoherpasyphilAIDS!

There's probably more to the story. Otherwise that's the dumbest thing I've heard from the faa yet.

Gross. Especially sharing mic muffs.

One more thing to keep in mind as you're writing these up. If you only write one up, the jumpseat gets deferred... Make sure you're not screwing someone out of getting to work! (However, when that gojet guy shows up, now the O2 is fine! It's just... well... your headset is broken, sorry...)
