I think it's much useful to write down the name of those CA that is a dixk to fly with, or just doesn't pick up the bar tab.
|
Ok RVR reminded me of something. I have heard of Capt. that write down their FO's name and FO's that write down the name of their Capt.'s in their logbook. What purpose does this serve? What do I care a month or so down the road that I flew with XXX on flight XXX from XXX to XXX? I don't get it, someone please enlighten me. It's not worth the ink in my pen in my mind.

I write down each Captain and their employee number for reference...can't tell you how many times other guys have asked me if I've flown with so-and-so, or when...I can whip out my Trip Log and tell them right then and there. Anyway, I'm meticulous about my flight records, always have been and always will...Doesn't mean you have to be! |
I think it has nothing to do with names. It has more to do with our own senility.(at least mine) What helps me to remember what I did yesterday was to associate that layover with something, i.e. the cheesy song you heard on the van, CA ripped one on short final... If drawing a :) help me jog my memory, so be it.
Seriously, studies have shown that writing down things is 1 of the best defense against memory loss. (Probably why most crusty old CA has like 4 pens in his shirt pocket.:) |
