TSA strike authorization

Just wondering what's happening at TSA? Any news?

jaded 06-25-2009 11:49 AM

I think almost everyone at TSA on this board is ignoring you. You might not get an answer. Goodluck.

Why do Gojet pilots want to know what's going on at TSA?

Probably because if TSA strikes, they will be more than happy to pick up the "additional" flying.

nigelcobalt 06-25-2009 12:32 PM

Is he a gojet pilot:eek: or flying for mesa's go in hawaii?

RJtrashPilot 06-25-2009 12:37 PM

Or....maybe he just has JO as his avatar to make a mockery of Go.???

They're up to Chapter 5. I'm dying to know what happens at the end of the story though.

Pilotpip 06-25-2009 05:34 PM

I can't wait to rightfully call you two scabs.

It actually drips with irony.

He is a GoJet pilot with an avatar of an airline which was responsible for ruining an airline by undercutting them.

See the irony?

Don't hold your breath Republic pilot. You're gonna call us scabs from your E190? Do you think you'll be able to hold the A320?

SebastianDesoto 06-25-2009 06:51 PM

Damn this is a nasty thread. Do I have anything to be ashamed of too?

I'm sure somebody will find something for you to be ashamed about.

In my mind, this is exactly what management wants and it appears that they have won. They always seem to exploit one pilot group at the expense of another and create animosity amongst the ranks. It's planned, strategic and, unfortunately, effective.

Excellent post. That's what it's all about. Ironically none of us have any say in the matter.

Nope, I believe you raised your hand and said "Sure, I'll go to GoJet!"

Just remember, the strike center knows which flights are ours, so if it gets down to it, we'll know which of you are flying them. THATS what a scab is.

TSA & TSA, two of the most annoying organizations that share the same acronym.

TSA is what you make of it, it's not a POS airline by any means. The other TSA is very annoying.

Who do you fly for?

Purpleanga 06-26-2009 03:56 PM

How many are there furloughed? APC has two different numbers in the pilot count. I haven't been able to log into the employee site since early this year, I guess they never did fix that for us furloughed folk.

Dont have the numbers on furlough, but junior FO is 309 with company.

I believe when the first wave of furloughs came around June '08 the sen. # was up to about 560 I was furloughed Aug '08 and I was in the upper 400s number 4 from the bottom if I remember correctly.

DryMotorBoatin 06-27-2009 02:56 PM

So are we done with furloughs for the time being? Anymore planned? Whats the story?

I wouldn't hold your breath mate, you might suffocate. Trans States is a thing of the past for me. Don't get me wrong though, if Trans States decides to get its stuff together and I'm still on the street, I'll come back. Chances of that scenario playing out: Slim to none. :o

DryMotorBoatin 06-28-2009 01:33 PM

oh im not holding my breath...im already back in school. i figure we'll be bought by RAH within the year.

flynavyj 06-28-2009 02:05 PM

Might be one of the best things to happen to TSA in a long while...MIGHT BE!

Foxcow 06-28-2009 04:49 PM

According to the latest bid packet, the most junior guy on property is #309. Last year there were almost 550 pilots on property.

No kidding. It would be nice to get rid of one of the worst "management" teams in the industry.

flynavyj 06-28-2009 04:53 PM

can't really remember, but i believe i was number 250-260 or so, sound about right foxcow? didn't know i'd have been that close to the bottom. Also, any truth to you guys getting 5 birds back from mexico?

Actually, you would be around the 230s or so. You would have a crappy line rather than reserve like me in STL.

I have not heard anything about 5 returning aircraft from Mexico but I will ask around.

That would be the quickest lease I've ever heard of! I still remember picking one up from MX in HOT.

Those were fun times weren't they!?

flynavyj 06-28-2009 07:06 PM

from what i heard, the reason it's the quickest lease is because they weren't making the payments, so Hulie wants his birds back.

250 or point 65 06-28-2009 07:12 PM

Gonna pick up some at-risk out of STL for AX? I'm sure thats why he wanted to keep the AA relationship open.

I had to ride in a 310 down to HOT at about 11:00 at night the day that USAir went into the drink to pick one of those birds up. Always wondered why most of the planes that went back were the better ones. Ah well, I am on extended vacation (furlough) for now anyway. Would be nice if we got 5 back, I was in the last group to go, so it might bring me back and hopefully some more.

I'm sure Eagle and RAH would appreciate that since STL is their territory. By the way RAH is still flying E135s out of STL. I thought those were supposed to be inefficient for AMR.

250 or point 65 06-29-2009 04:11 AM

I think that first sentence was sarcastic, but either way, the at-risk stuff does not matter at all to Eagle or CHQ because its additional flying that AMR would not have done anyway.

Do I remember correctly that CHQ's AX contract comes up in Dec? Or is it Dec of next year. I feel like I remember something about December.
