Default Skywest classes - any guesses?

Well, like many others, I've been in the hiring pool for one year now. I know things change daily and that it's hard to predict the future, but does anyone have a guestimate as to when classes might resume? I'm hoping no later than next spring, but I guess it all depends on how much flying Delta and United require this fall and next spring. Well, I guess the good news is that no furloughs have been announced.

You fly the 340 for SKW???

Management has pretty much said no furloughs. They don't make statements like that lightly, so I'm guessing no furloughs in the current environment.

Hiring? My guess would be 18 months or so, maybe less, assuming that there is no large gain in flying (ie mag liquidation).

I don't know anything about SKW's current situation, but in the months leading to my furlough, XJT was also saying that furloughs weren't planned. Things change. I certainly hope everyone stays on property, but you just never know until you're holding a furlough letter.

How long did they tell you that 18 month pay freeze was gonna last?

Just wondering what the latest pilot count is on the seniority list is? Also are any 700's still currently being added for the United flying?

2796 pilots. Yes, 700's are being added, I believe there are 16 left to be delivered. They are pulling out EMB-120's as the -700's come on line, so there is not supposed to be a net gain in aircraft. However, there has been talk of some of the EMB's not going away right away. Either way, I'd say hiring won't be until APR at the earliest. Unless something major happens of course.

You mean the 700 rates?

I'm not defending management here, just stating what they are likely to do. I voted for the union, as painful as that was to do.

If they thought they were going to furlough, they would probably still be approving VLAs.
