No just 100% block, but we do get paid 100% of Scheduled Block which is higher 99.99% of the time than Historic Credit.

BTW our "Block or Better" is actually "Historic Credit or Better" and Historic Credit is the historic average of actually block.

Example:

SFO - FAT is blocked at :59 minutes but our pay for the leg is :55. Now we get the higher of actual block or historic credit (:55) if we work the leg but if we DeadHead we get paid scheduled block or :59 flat. What is nice is that we can cancel the DH and still get paid 100% of the DH. I do this ALL the time.

BTW people historically run this leg (SFO – FAT or LAX – FAT) very fast seeing it's usually the very last leg of their trip. 99% of the time we don't come back to FAT until the last leg of our trip.

xtreme 07-06-2009 09:12 AM

100% at Air wisc.

We need block or better... Sitting on the taxiway for 3 hours waiting to get to LGA or PHL with screaming babies all around you can get annoying.

naley70b 07-06-2009 10:14 AM

75% at good ol' PDT, but the jokes on us cause the FA's get 100%, but then i guess the real jokes on them 'cause we get paid more...Really the jokes just on all the employees at piedmont. Thanks Commander Farrow

mjarosz 07-06-2009 10:19 AM

75%??? Damn I've been getting screwed. Last time I DH'd I only got 50%. Thanks again Commander "I ran my ship aground" Farrow

naley70b 07-06-2009 10:36 AM

shucks....maybe it is 50% i dunno....lol

JetBlast77 07-06-2009 11:10 AM

Friends at Commutair tell me they get zero pay for DHs.

Just curious, do they use historic block or scheduled block in determining your flight time limitations?

By the way, at XJT its 100% block or better on CAL only (and the charter guys get to keep their miles). We can also get released and paid for 100% of block if the DH is at the beginning or end of a pairing.

Quite true....unless you get the privilege of a double dead head. In which case, you get 100% of the block or better of the two dead heads. In reality, however, one rarely sees a double dead head at PSA.

Colgan is 50% of block or better. Thankfully we do not have to do it much.

You do realize in that particular case that duty rig kicks in???

Killer51883 07-06-2009 05:57 PM

RAH is 75% of block. although several times where the actual DH went over block i have called and they have corrected the times (and the pay) accordingly

Splanky 07-06-2009 06:56 PM

100% of block at Horizontal. Though block is historical block, not actual.

How could they do that with a contract in place? Aren't you requesting more than is entitled for your?....oh wait....didnt see you flew the e170.

Boomer 07-06-2009 08:52 PM

Comair -

75% of Block or actual on Comair flights, 75% of block on non-Comair.

The bankruptcy judge gave us that (and many more wonderful gifts)because Delta testified that if he did, Comair'd be competitive and could win more Delta flying. :D

No, really.

Nevets 07-06-2009 10:03 PM

I think that we should get 125% pay for having to sit in the back to begin with. 150% if its a middle seat.

;)

I've never had to call them to correct times. Even while deadheading on other airlines.

Its 75% block or better on our flights, 75% of block on other carriers.

FlyFishin 07-07-2009 11:48 PM

At UPS we get the greater of the following:
Actual block
Scheduled block
trip rig
or 5.5 hours per day

what the hell are you talking about? I called in correct times when it affected my rest requirements after sitting on the ground for hours up in lga. what does flying the 170 have to do with it? If you want to know, I am on the 170 after displacing to it so I can live in base instead of commuting.

Picking carefully or guessing randomly will get the same results. :D

Ask these guys again in three years (after contract negotiations, Bankruptcys, growth, etc.) and many will answer differently.

HSLD 07-08-2009 06:20 PM

Good thread, I posted a Survey Section today and asked the basics about deadhead pay. If you haven't already, have a look at the poll.

Nevets 07-12-2009 07:42 PM

One other thing, when deadheading by surface transportation we get 100% scheduled travel time by using AAA mileage to or from an assignment, assuming a travel speed of 50 miles per hour.
