Glad somebody started this thread...how do you check how much a buddy pass will costs? I'm too lazy to look it up and can't find the calculator that use to be on the old travelnet.

Just jumpseat on another carrier. Problem solved..

Think you are still responsible for the taxes.

I think it's $75 per leg when you go over. Still not bad

Just used one. $164 ($79 in taxes) to go from Grr-Dtw-Dca then back Dca-Dtw-Grr. Not really worth it.

Anyways you goto Travelnet, "Authorize Buddy" under Manage my account, choose a pass rider #, click "Authorize". This brings up the listing information. When finished click on "Continue to Listing" to select flights. After you select the flights it will give you the price with breakdown.

Well that really sucks. Was nice to see how much it was going to be before I authorized it. I have a feeling w/the new prices they aren't worth crap! I guess I don't plan on using them if I can't find out how much they are before.

yeah, I've wondered about that myself. was told if i went over my three allocated travel days (still, why not at least 4 to get us back home??) that i was subject to a huge fee from delta and disclipinary action from pinnacle, up to termination. i had a few transoceanic trip planned this year so looks like i'll have to buy a zed/s...for myself and entire family.

i wish whoever made our travel entitlements system would lose thier job over this..nwa never excluded us from their buddy pass system, parents flying and limiting us on our t/o travel.

my parents flew on a zed high on dl a month ago...i tried telling them it's cheaper on just about any other carrier OTHER THAN a delta connection carrier. US, AA are still zed medium for parents so looks like that'll be their next travel plans.

I've only done it once, but I think it gave the price before getting the confirmation code. So I think you can check, then just don't finish the process and keep your pass. Also, I don't think it charges you until the pass rider checks in (on Nwa - on Dal buddy has to pay).

Hope this helps.
