Continental Express and the CAL/UAL merger?
 

HI,

I was wondering if anything would happen to continental express in the CAL/UAL merger? Because I know United also has united express. Thoughts? Feelings?

That depends on a lot of things. One, it depends on the individual express contracts. Some contain a clause that protects a regional carrier in the event of a merger, some don't. It also depends on the agreement between the major partners, and the future business model of the major partners.

In my opinion CAL won't touch UAL until UAL starts to exit from another BK, then I'd expect them to make a play on a much leaner UAL. Once again, in my opinion I also think O won't let a company the size of UAL liquidate, he'll probably pull another Wachovia/Wells Fargo but not a GM.

I expect alot of furloughs, base shrinking or closing, a/c being returned. not a whole of good things. oh were talking about continental/ual sorry, alter where necessary though.

Also, what merger and what express you talking bout?

If i had a crystal ball i would see a lot of people out of work and a lot of whipsawing ... certain regionals might grow but others would suffer.

I wonder what will happen to Continental Connection.

You think they'd merge with United Express? If so, will it be a DOH integration?
