This sort of story is the #1 reason why, after careful consideration, I'll never run a crashpad. Tick off one neighbor, and with one phone call your business (which is an unlicensed boarding house, after all) is closed and you're dealing with fines, back taxes, and lord knows what else.

Chicago went through a spate of this a couple of years ago. If memory serves, local hotel interests decided to get some laws passed and enforced that targeted airline crash pads. The theory being, of course, that hotel revenues were suffering.

The irony is that 99% of all crash pads probably make better neighbors than most. Occupants are there to sleep, not to party or make heck.

Joke being a joke, but I know pilots who have done it. Not for a day or two, either.. but for months on end on reserve.

The ironic thing is many junior congressmen live in crashpads in DC. When I visited a couple of years ago the representative told me how he sleeps in his office because he can't even afford to stay in a crashpad.

You can let this guy know what you think:

Those are Mike's crashpads. I hope that sleezeball gets put out of business and fined as much as possible. He was known for not returning security deposits... several of those pilots being my friends.

They stole my security deposit as well. I've stayed in many crashpads and the one in Loudoun was the worst. 10 people to a room. Mike and his little minion Steve are weasels, good thing that crashpad is shut down.
