UAX DH problems

Question for all UAX carriers.

At my company, if they need to DH you somewhere to start a trip, you are positive space. However, if your trip ends in a DH back to base, you're on standby. Our contract says they have to positive space us, but it has been explained to me that this is a UAL policy. Any others experience this?

Let me guess, TSA?

Must be...that would never fly, at least at SkyWest. That is Hulas looking out for his own pocketbook, and not for you

of course its TSA. Im going to bring this up for the union to look into. What you guys are telling me is that without a doubt, you are positive space to end a trip with a DH? i dont want to look like an idiot bringing this up to the union and it in fact being a UAL policy. they've been doing this for a while now and its such B.S. you fulfill your obligations to the company the least they should do is guarantee you get back to base. unacceptable...

You're getting bent over. Talk to your union as this isn't policy. Your schedulers/planners have the ability to list you as positive space and they either chose not to or are told not to by your management.

Same sh*t at Eagle, I hate finishing a sequence with a DH and getting booted off the flight.

Got taken off a trip because of a 30/7 on the last leg. Didn't get positive space back to domicile! It's BS!!! Eagle is not the best, but not the worse either....

At SkyWest when on a DH they can list us must ride or positive space. Must ride when going to a flight assignment and positive space when going home. Positive space isn't really that. If the flight is full with revenue passengers they can bump you to a later flight. I've had this happen several times in Denver with our own equipment and mainline. Calls to crew support and the MOD did nothing to change the situation.

TSA's contract does not require positive space back to base. We went through this with them a few years back. It says "class 4" positive space which was some old TWA computer code that only meant you were at the top of the standby list. As it was once explained to me the UAL policy is that they are penalized it they bump revenue because UAL buys ALL of the seats. Since TSA sucks, they would rather leave you behind.
