2010 RFP's

Anyone know which airlines will have RFP's in 2010?

SebastianDesoto 08-13-2009 09:47 AM

What is RFP?

Is SkyWest working on a new RFP with Delta? Or are they just haggling over current contract?

"Ready For a Pounding? :D

It's Request For Proposal... mainlines way of offering more flying to the lowest bidder.

Let's flush the regional system and start from scratch.

PS does United still have one out? Comair was looking into it I think last year; evidently they weren't awarded any new flying but wondering whatever happened with that.

Comair has been saying that they are about to get the big United contract for at least the last 5 years. Probably longer. I wouldn't hold my breath on that one.

Why the hell would a wholly owned DELTA regional do flying for UAL?

Avroman 08-14-2009 09:46 AM

They won't... Especially Comair. Delta has such ill will towards them now that they'd take a loss to give that flying to Mesaba or Compass long before taking a profit with Comair. (maybe not a realistic costing... but the sentiment is the same)

What everyone means to say, is that RPF means Comair is going to loose more flying

United currently has one out for a mix of equipment. As far as 2010, it all depends on multiple factors, a major doesn't have to put out an RFP to expand their regional flying, they can just expand an existing one.
