As far as buying PDT, the long and short is that there really isn't too much to purchase. Asset-wise, we have 33 owned -102's of 1984-mid 90's vintage, and the the 11 -311's are leased. Throw in spare parts, and maybe the MDT/SBY hangars. I'm sure US would want to retain the ground handling part of the business.

I'm really doubting this one, but if it were true, it really wouldn't raise that much capital for US, IMHO?

33 100s at maybe 3mill a pop would net airways let's say 100m. or airways could just continue to fly them till 2014 and scrap them for probably much less than that. 100m for planes maybe 150 for the whole flt ops may not sound like much but remember this whole dca lga slot exchange with delta was only forecast to improve airways bottom line by about 75m. so a 150m shot in the arm would surely be something they must be looking at. I think a sale of PDTs 100s is the more likely scenario. With the ground ops expanding pdt could fly just the leased 300s till 2014 and Farrow could still justify having a job long enough to get him that villa on the outskirts of the hamptons.
