Delta Settles Holiday Schedule Suit

Mesaba to pay $130,000 to settle civil rights case | StarTribune.com

We all know the Airlines run 24/7 so what is everyone's take on this?

interesting read. kinda walking a fine line

So if everyone at a company is Christian or Jewish etc. then that airline would have to not have any flights on Sunday or past sundown etc?

That is ridiculous.

Here is the job, here are the days you would have to work. If that isn't conducive to your personal religious feelings - don't apply.

If you want Sundays off go to Chick-fli-a.

haha I'm not sure why anyone would apply for a job that required you to work weekends if in fact they could not

Looks like I'm taking tomorrow off, I hope my company doesn't mind. And while we're at it, I seem to drink alot so I now plan on taking March 17th off too.

Pathetic.

Don't airline applications have a little box to check indicating you're willing to work weekends/ holidays?

But in this case, its says the employees involved were going to make voluntary shift swaps in order to accomodate their religious obligations and the company wouldn't allow it. And should the title of the thread be changed? This really has nothing to do with Delta as this was a Mesaba policy. It also appears that this possibly took place prior to the merger.

Yes, voluntary, but it says you are not allowed voluntary swaps during your 90 day probation. So, these clowns couldn't miss a few Sunday mornings? I think I won't be able to be there for my checkride today, I have to go to church! There are church services Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday....I'm sure you can figure out how to get to one.
