I ski instruct on my days off. Sure its only good for the winter but its fun and puts a few extra bucks in my pocket.

Just make sure you actually know how to ski or snowboard before you try to teach someone. ;)

I did that in college and while CFIing. Brutal wear and tear on your car, and they never re-imburse you enough for gas mileage (if at all).

I do herbalife on my time off... Not that hard to do if you just need some extra income.. you are also taking care of your body and health at the same time.. and the people there are very nice

I teach online classes at an aviation college. The paycheck is bigger than my regional flying check and I only teach 1 class per semester.

I worked as a substitute teacher for several school districts close by. Good hours and easy to just press 'Play' for the kids. Usually made $110-$125 a day. I don't do it anymore but it wasn't too difficult to get started. Granted, my undergrad is in education.

What about being a ground instructor at a flight school? I still have an active CFI/CFII/MEI. Considering getting something in a boat yard to do fiberglass repairs and bottom jobs on boats.

Deliver the paper. Usually it's late at night like 12-3am.

I hate to say it but 90 percent of the jobs that have been proposed are minimum wage range money. Do you really want to go to work driving pizzas or waiting tables for 40-50 bucks here and there but be treated like a high school dropout while you are doing it?

I would suggest something that can generate a little more cash, maybe even cross-train yourself in another skilled trade.
A real easy into job I would suggest is mowing lawns. It will keep you in great shape and make 20ish per hour average.

The people who mentioned things like website development or other IT jobs hit it right on the head too.

A few years back, the mechanic I used to use was a Continental Express pilot. He and his buddies had a car shop together and all worked flexible shifts.

I am a corporate pilot and my lifestyle is a little different but still much the same. Here is what I do on the side:

Sell cool things I find on Craigslist/Goodwill
Sell car parts for a friend at commission
Flight Instruct
Contract fly
Manage a GPS tracking software for the company I fly for(negotiated into my salary).


Point being, is I never stop. Lots of work is out there, knowing the right people definitely helps too. Good luck!
